A Different Kind of Partner<\/o:p><\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Most families only bring in help after something has already gone wrong. I built the Special Education Navigator around a different idea: that the strongest outcomes for children come from a proactive, retained partnership between parents and schools \u2014 not crisis response after trust has already broken down.<\/p>\n

As your Navigator, I walk alongside you from the moment a concern first arises through every stage of your child's journey. I help you understand what's happening in the classroom, read IEP goals and progress data like a diagnostician would, learn your rights and the district's process, and build a collaborative relationship with your child's school team \u2014 before conflict ever has a chance to take root. Over time, you become the confident, capable advocate your child needs, with me a phone call away whenever you want backup.<\/p>\n

Traditional formal advocacy \u2014 stepping in for mediation, due process, or a formal dispute \u2014 remains available whenever it's genuinely needed. But with a Navigator, it's the exception, not the starting point.<\/p>\n

Who I Am<\/h3>

When you're looking for support with your child's special education, you need more than someone who shows up for one meeting \u2014 you need a retained partner invested in your family for the long run. I use my personal and professional experience, and more than 20 years as an educational diagnostician, to offer a different kind of relationship: one built on ongoing guidance rather than one-time intervention. I help you read IEPs and evaluation data the way a diagnostician does, prepare for meetings before they become high-stakes, and communicate with your school team in a way that builds trust instead of friction \u2014 all aimed at securing the truly Individualized Education Program your child needs to reach their full potential.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

While I provide expert guidance and support throughout, my focus is teaching you to understand the classroom, the process, the data, and your rights well enough that you become your child's most confident, capable advocate.<\/p>\n

Why Proactive Partnership Is My Priority<\/strong><\/p>\n

The legal framework of special education, the IDEA, is built on the principle of parents and schools working as a team. Most conflict doesn't come from bad intentions \u2014 it comes from a gap in understanding. Close that gap early, and most families never need a fight at all.<\/p>\n

My approach is different. I see my role as a long-term guide and strategist who helps you build a trusting relationship with the school team from the outset \u2014 not a specialist brought in only once something has gone wrong.<\/p>\n
